RE: Revision of Constitution and Bylaws

There have been several organizational changes in the university since the current Constitution and Bylaws were approved. These changes may warrant updates to the Constitution and Bylaws particularly in the areas concerning amount and type of faculty representation. The Agenda Committee proposes the creation of a position of Vice-Chair for the Senate to promote smooth transitions in leadership. The proposed office of Vice-Chair would require a change in the current Constitution and Bylaws. The task force should review these issues and any other changes they deem necessary and make recommendations for change to the Senate.

The Agenda Committee proposes that a task force reporting to the Agenda Committee be set up to review the constitution and bylaws. The task force will be populated by the nominating committee and the chair will be determined by the task force.
