Proposal
A Task Force shall be established to study the state of student civility on this campus and make appropriate recommendations to the Faculty Senate for guidelines to be implemented regarding behavior in the classroom and offices of the University. Further, that any recommendations and guidelines adopted by the Senate become part of new student orientation and Faculty Syllabi.
Rationale, Time Line and Membership
There is considerable concern among faculty and staff regarding uncivil behavior exhibited by some students on campus. A task force to study this issue has been recommended by the Dean of Students Office. Proposed Membership for the Task Force is attached.
