Document Subject: Change in Course Description – CET 104 – Elementary Surveying

Justification: The course description is being updated following TAC-ABET evaluation team recommendations that topics in Global Positioning Systems (GPS) be included in the Civil Engineering Technology curriculum.  Also, the new description is a better representation of how the course is currently taught.

CET 104 – Elementary Surveying

Class 2, Lab 3, Credit 3

Prerequisite: MA 147 or equivalent,

or consent of instructor

Measurement of distances, directions, and angles using
tape, level and theodolite.  Computation of areas and
traverses, lines and grades.  Also, topographic surveys
and an introduction to construction surveys.
