Document Subject: Credit hours and course description change for ECET 100, Introduction to
Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology.
Justification: The change is done to satisfy the 2/3rd ratio between required technical content and
total credit hours as per ABET recommendation.
Current:
ECET 100 (0-6-2), Introduction to Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology
Introduction to hands-on laboratory techniques. The course is a conceptual introduction to the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology [ECET] discipline. The course would provide an experiential introduction to the key concepts of the discipline. This course would include utilization of campus resources, goal setting, values exploration, relationship of academic planning and life goals and critical thinking.
Proposed:
ECET 100 (0-3-1), Introduction to Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology
An introduction to the different fields of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. Hands-on laboratory techniques along with the exposure to lab procedures and safety will be introduced. Students would be engaged in Internet and Library Research and learn about University wide Resources and how to best utilize them.
