Document Subject: New Course: CGT 353 Principles of Interactive and Dynamic Media
Justification: CGT 353 Principles of interactive and dynamic media is a reflection of changes made at West Lafayette and needs to be brought to our campus master course list. If not, statewide course consistency and transfers will suffer incompatibilities. This course replaces CGT 251 statewide. (For substitution see curriculum document number TEC 05-50)

Course Description
This course explores the development of interactive and dynamic media components for multimedia and hypermedia products. The course examines the design, creation and integration of text, 2D animation and sound for use in CD, DVD and web media. Students also learn the basics of scripting and how it can be used to create interaction.

This course serving as a prerequisite for higher courses will better prepare students for industry standards and will enable transfers state wide within the Purdue system
