Document Subject : New Course: CGT 330 Multimedia, Animation and Video Game Design and Development
Justification: This course has been offered as CGT 499 on the Calumet campus. It will be integrated into the CGT curriculum specifically into the game and animation track. This course will also be available to current students in the general multimedia CGT degree and can be used as an elective in the Graphic Arts option in Communications.

CGT 330 Multimedia, Animation and Video Game Design and Development
2 lecture 2 lab (3 credit) Pre or coreq. CGT 211. Or by consent of instructor.
This course outlines all the details to create an original video game, build an effective game proposal outline with background information, the story, asset lists, hardware and software requirements. This course will teach the student to maximize design and development time of the original creator. Students will properly detail the proposal for a programming and artistic team to take a game from start to finish.
Impact on Students: This course will allow CGT students more flexibility in selecting areas important to their professional preparation.
What other Academic Departments will be impacted? This course may be desirable for students from the graphic arts option in the communication department. The course could possibly be used by a future game programming option or by other students who are interested in animation, motion graphics, drawing and video games.
