Program Notes:
The program requirements are determined by the date a student officially becomes a CISIT major.
A grade of a "C" or better is required in each CIS major course. CIS courses in which lower grades have been received must be retaken before progressing to the next course in the sequence. An incomplete is not considered a passing grade.
Only two CIS courses may be repeated because of an unsatisfactory (D or F) grade. These courses may be repeated one time. Withdrawal from a CIS course with an unsatisfactory grade will be considered equivalent to a final failing grade.
No student shall choose the pass/not pass option for a CIS course. Advisor agreement is required for any other course.
Students may test out of up to two CIS courses.
Students not prepared to take MA 154 or MA 214 will be required to take a preparatory math class.
Secondary Specialty is defined as a sequence of 4 courses in one discipline.
Humanities Elective is defined as one of the following: American History, English Literature, Modern Language, Philosophy, World History, World Literature or Aesthetics (i.e. Fine Arts, Music, and Theater).
Social Science Elective is defined as one of the following: Anthropology, Communications, Economics, Political Science, Psychology or Sociology.
Natural Science Requirement for Database and Web students is defined as one of the following: Science 112, Astronomy, Geology, Biology, Physics or Chemistry.
