Document Subject: Add graduation requirement for CGT degrees and certificates

Add a graduation requirement for all students pursuing any CGT degree (A.S. or B.S., certificate or option) that they must attain a grade of ‘C’ or better in all of their CGT courses in order to qualify for graduation.

Justification:

This requirement should be added in order to maintain the integrity and quality of the CGT programs. The current overall university G.P.A. graduation requirement does not ensure that CGT students have successfully demonstrated adequate CGT knowledge and skills upon graduation. This requirement will help to correct this requirement and support our future accreditation requirements.

Current:

There are no current graduation requirements for CGT other than the generic University G.P.A. minimum requirement.

Proposed:

Add the following graduation requirement for all Computer Graphics Technology majors:

All Computer Graphics Technology majors must attain a ‘C’ or better in all of their CGT courses in order to graduate with any CGT degree or qualify for any CGT certificate.

Impact on Students:

The quality of education in the student’s chosen field must be taken seriously in order to graduate.
