This course discusses the role of databases in
the System Development Life Cycle with an
emphasis on rational base analysis and design
techniques-logical data modeling. Additional
topics include the functions and components
state-of-the-art commercial DBMS software,
distributed database, database models and the
role and function of the Database
Administrator. Students will be assigned

Database Modeling

Prerequisite: CIS 252, CIS 253
This course discusses the role of databases in
the System Development Life Cycle with an
emphasis on relational database and object-
oriented database analysis and design
techniques-logical data modeling. Additional
topics include the functions, components of
state-of-the-art commercial DBMS software,
distributed database, database models and the
role and function of the Database
Administrator. Students will be assigned
data modeling projects.
