Justification:
This course will be used to fulfill the Freshman Experience requirement in the CGT Program curriculum.

CGT 101 Introduction to Computer Graphics Technology. Class 3, cr. 3.
This course provides an introduction to and a survey of the discipline of computer graphics. The topics include a survey of the applications of computer graphics, the knowledge base and history of computer graphics, an examination of computer graphics technologies and careers as well as an overview of available resources for study and research in computer graphics. This course includes utilization of campus resources, academic planning, discipline specific career exploration and critical thinking.
Impact on Students:
Research indicates that entering students who make a bond to the university have greater success through their college experience. The overall objectives of this course are: 1. Expose entering students to the available university and departmental resources. 2. Allow entering students to develop a personal and professional relationship with CGT faculty.
