Justification: Expands students’ options for fulfilling General Education requirement for a freshman experience course.

OLS 102 Freshman Experience
Class 1, cr. 1.
This course provides entering first-year and transfer students with less than 60 credits an opportunity to become familiar with available departmental and university resources, such as the advising process, the course management system, engage in goal setting, align academic and life goals, explore available career options, and develop a plan for success.
Impact on Students: No prerequisite required.
Research indicates that entering students who make a bond to the university have greater success through their college experience. The overall objectives of this course are:
1. Expose entering students to the available university and departmental resources
2. Allow entering students to develop a personal and professional relationship with OLS faculty.
