Subject: |
Changing a prerequisite and course description of MGMT 410 Advanced Financial Accounting
Justification: |
This is a course for accounting majors and students require a more comprehensive background in accounting to perform well in this course.
Key Features: |
Intermediate Accounting is a two course sequence: MGMT 350 and MGMT 351. This change would require that a student complete the entire sequence before taking this course. The grammar in the course description has also been corrected.
Current: MGMT 410 ADVANCED FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING Advanced course in financial accounting. A range of contemporary topics in financial reporting such as business combinations and consolidations, foreign transactions, partnerships, governmental and not-for-profit accounting are covered.
Proposed: MGMT 410 ADVANCED FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING This is an advanced course in financial accounting. A range of contemporary topics in financial reporting such as business combinations and consolidations, foreign transactions, partnerships, governmental and not-for-profit accounting are covered.
Impact on Students: |
With the new prerequisite, accounting students will be better prepared to master the advanced topics. Since accounting students must take MGMT 351 as part of the major sequence, this change only affects the sequence of courses taken. |
