Subject:

Change in a Course Requirement for all undergraduate degrees in the School of Management.

Justification:

Replacing MGMT 311 Management Information Systems with MGMT 211 Principles of Information Systems appropriately establishes the level at which the course is taught. The new course covers the same topics but requires less technical and managerial background.

The new course is consistent with 200 level courses that may transfer in.

Key Features:

This proposal would replace the 300 level course with the 200 level course in all the business curricula.

Current:

MGMT 311 MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Proposed:

MGMT 211 PRINCIPLES OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Impact on Students:

The proposed requirements will align this program with the B.A. in Business program.

Impact on Other Academic Units:

This is a course for management students. Changing the 300 level course to the 200 level course will make this course more available to students outside of the Management School.
