MGMT 211 Principles of Information Systems

Justification:

This course is intended to replace MGMT 311 as a requirement in the degree programs in management. The level and focus of the course is more appropriately defined as a 200 level course.

Prerequisite: MGMT 102 or consent of instructor

An introduction to information systems from the perspective of a manager. This course provides an overview of information systems, systems theory, human information processing, and current legal and ethical issues relating to computer usage.

This course provides an elective for students in any discipline who seek a general introduction to information systems.

This course provides an elective for students in any discipline with minimal technical background who seek a general knowledge of information systems from a management perspective.
