John Carlisle
 
  • Was born on February 27, 1938 in West Frankfort, Illinois
  • Earned a bachelor and master degrees in education from Southern Illinois University
  • Also earned a master´s degree in humanities from Wayne State University in Michigan
  • Earned a Ph.D. in American Culture from the University of Michigan
  • Was a faculty member since 1972 and he served as Head of the Dept. of English and Philosophy
  • Was the Director of Purdue Calumet´s Institute for Regional Studies
  • Was awarded the Outstanding Administrator Award at Purdue University Calumet in 1994
  • Was an Associate Professor of English
  • Was a member of the Advisory Committee of the Public Arts Preservation Committee
  • Was elected Vice President/President Elect of the Indiana Film and Video Council
  • Served as judge of the Senior Citizen Photo Exhibit at the Indiana State Fair
  • Wrote a book titled "A Simple and Vital Design: The Story of the Indiana Post Office Murals."
