MEMORANDUM
TO: The
Campus Community
FROM: Chancellor
Howard Cohen, Vice Chancellors Leo Bryant
Mike Gealt, Gary Newsom, Dolores Steuer‑Wagner
With our nation
at war, we are reminded again of the important role colleges and universities
play as beacons of knowledge, understanding and expertise. We at Purdue University Calumet encourage
dialogue and expression of views in a collegial fashion.
Peaceful
expressions and activities relative to the state of our nation’s current
involvement in Iraq may occur at designated campus locations within the parameters
of university policies and normal operating procedures.
Should recognized
student groups/organizations desire to hold organized activities of expression,
they are reminded to work through the Center for Career & Leadership
Development (ext. 2419/SFLC 349).
Similarly, faculty and staff should make appropriate arrangements with
the Office of Scheduling (ext. 2133).
During this
sensitive and historic time in our nation’s history, we look forward to our
campus responding thoughtfully and responsibly to the activity and decisions of
our nation, its leaders and the international community.
