25, 1993]
Effective Date: December 1, 2003
The need to plan for our
future uses of information technology has outgrown our current planning
structure. While CTISPAC has served us
well in the past, we have reached a point where we need broader involvement of
campus personnel and more differentiated attention to campus academic and administrative
computing needs.
Information technology
planning at Purdue University Calumet must take into account national trends in
the use of information technology, advances in the technology itself, Purdue
University system-wide information technology decisions, and our campus
strategic plan.
In the face of these
changes, Purdue University Calumet will replace CTISPAC with the following
structures:
Academic Computing Council
Charge:
The Academic Computing
Council will assess the current status of both centralized and distributed
academic computing resources at Purdue Calumet, including those available for
general use and those that serve each of the academic schools. This assessment will address existing hardware,
software and technical support staff.
The Academic Computing
Council will develop and maintain a two-year rolling plan to support
instructional and research computing capabilities at Purdue Calumet. This plan will specify the resources needed
to establish a high-performance learning environment.
The two-year plan will
include the following elements:
·
The most effective
organization structure to serve academic computing at Purdue Calumet
·
The information
technology resources needed to support a 21st century teaching and
learning environment
