Vice Chancellor For Academic Affairs, Sandra Singer, has informed me that while she was recovering from her recent illness, she  decided it would be important to her to spend more time with her family in future years.  Therefore she has asked to make the transition from her current 12‑month administrative appointment to the 10‑month faculty position she holds as Professor of Psychology.  In appreciation for her many achievements at Purdue Calumet, I am happy to grant that request.

Dr. Singer joined Purdue Calumet in July 1992 as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. She led the campus through development of its first assessment plan, overseeing its implementation. Among her other contributions are: initiating the first campus‑wide general education curriculum, appointing the first full‑time grants administrator for academic affairs, developing an undergraduate research program, preparing for a successful NCATE accreditation visit and leading the campus into the AQIP accreditation process.

I know the campus joins me in expressions of thanks to Sandy for all she has done for Purdue Calumet. We look forward to her continuing contributions as a member of the faculty. She will begin this transition at the end of the Fall 2002 semester.
